Free dental screening

Free dental screening (WHO)

The Polk County Health Department began offering a free service Friday. Kindergartener Jenny Hellmers was the first one to try it out. Health department officials say they'll offer dental screenings every Friday for kids up to the age of 20.

A dental hygienist will also be on hand to look at the teeth of students in ninth grade and over. Officials say the offer will make it easier for kids to get all their immunizations, physicals and screenings done in one stop.
