A women's discus event is returning to the Drake Relays for the first time in more than 20 years. The competitors include reigning Olympic gold medalist Stephanie Brown Trafton, American record holder Suzy Powell-Roos and 2008 Olympic Trials champion Aretha Thurmond.
Relays director Brian Brown calls it a high performance event with outstanding competition. The 100th running of the Drake Relays will be held from April 22-25 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. The discus event will be held on the final day.
