Fatal accident in West Des Moines (WHO) |
West Des Moines Police are investigating an accident that killed a Norwalk man Wednesday morning and left another person seriously injured. Police responded to the accident at 9:10 a.m.
Police say witnesses saw a Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-35 when it struck a Saturn driven by 33-year-old Christopher Hawkins. Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene. A third vehicle, a Kia minivan, was also involved but there were no injuries to its occupants.
The name of the person driving the Dodge Ram has not been released. Police say the person was taken to a Des Moines hospital with serious injuries.
