Power Back On In Greene County
Power has been restored in Greene County after an outage Thursday morning left 309 Alliant Energy customers in the dark. The outage happened around 10:30 a.m.

Alliant Energy says two-thirds of its customers without power were switched back on Friday morning at 5:00. All customers had power back by 7:30 a.m.

The cause of the outage is still being investigated but Alliant says it was experiencing voltage increases because of equipment failure. Twenty-two Alliant crews were Churdan working on restoring power to the town.

Governor Culver had issued an emergency proclamation for Greene County, over fears the water plant would not be able to provide safe drinking water to residents of Churdan.

Because of the outage, the Paton-Churdan school district delayed classes for two hours.
