Rodney Heemstra (WHO)
After several days of testimony from his wife, Rodney Heemstra is expected to take the stand this week in a Warren County courtroom. Heemstra and eight family members are accused of keeping almost $6 million from his estate from going to his victim's family.
Friday the court heard from one of Heemstra's former cellmates, Keith Brown. He testified Heemstra often bragged about land transactions that were completed to prevent the property from going to Tom Lyon's family. Heemstra's wife claims the money was moved around to avoid foreclosure.
Rodney Heemstra was first convicted of first degree murder in the 2003 death of Tom Lyon, but that verdict was overturned. A second trial resulted in a manslaughter conviction.
