Two Nebraska men are in custody after led authorities on a high-speed chase in western Iowa that ended when they crashed into a patrol car and rolled into a ditch.
Twenty-six-year-old Mark Allen Lea Jr., and 36-year-old Brian Thessen, both of Omaha, Neb., are charged with attempted murder, burglary and a variety of traffic charges after the chase Friday morning.
It all started with a reported burglary at a car wash coin box in Dow City. The chase began when Crawford County's sheriff and chief deputy tried to stop a Jeep driven by Lea.
Authorities say the Jeep reached speeds of 120 miles per hour before it crashed on U.S. Highway 30 east of Arcadia. No one was injured.
Lea and Thessen are each being held in the Crawford County jail under $100,000 bond.
