Six-hundred sows were killed in a fire at a hog confinement facility near Gilman Wednesday. The fire was reported just after noon.
Authorities say eight fire departments battled the fire at Tamco Pork on 310th Street. No major injuries were reported, but one person did suffer from mild smoke inhalation.
The building that burned was L-shaped and high winds made fighting the fire difficult.
