Vander Plaats' I-JOBS Plans Attacked
A Republican gubernatorial candidate is coming up against criticism from both sides of the aisle over his plans for I-JOBS if elected. Sioux City businessman Bob Vander Plaats said earlier this week that if he were elected, he'd pay off the $800 million in I-JOBS bonds early.

Vander Plaats said instead of doing it in 20 years as the bonds specify, he'd pay them off by the end of his first four-year term as governor.

Representative Christopher Rants says it's not possible, "Those are things that sound good on a stump speech but the reason why we haven't seen any other Republican candidates echo those same sort of proposals is because they don't work."

Democratic state treasurer Mike Fitzgerald, who traveled to New York to secure the I-JOBS bonds also says Vander Plaats' plan can't be done.
