West Des Moines fire crews had to rescue a father and son from a river after their SUV rolled off I-235 Saturday afternoon.
The accident happened around 1:30 near the 22nd Street exit. When police and fire arrived, they found the vehicle upside down in a creek. Police say the two were trapped in the car. They were both taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Police say they're still investigating what led to the accident, but debris was found in the road when the arrived and it is possible the driver swerved to miss it.
