The National Weather Service is sending survey crews across Iowa to determine damage after storms dumped heavy rain, hail and spawned tornadoes.

Tornadoes were reported on Sunday near Anita in Cass County in southwest Iowa and then in Dallas and Polk County as the storms moved into central Iowa. No injuries are reported.

In Polk County, trees are down in Grimes and Ankeny and near Adel in Dallas County.

Meteorologist Miles Schumacher says survey crews will assess the damage on Monday and determine whether there were numerous tornadoes or if the same tornado touched down several times.

He says the storms produced winds of almost 80 mph and heavy rain. Over 2 inches of rain fell in 15 minutes in Marshall County.
