According to the Des Moines Register, One of the U.S. Navy SEALs that was killed when his helicopter was shot down over Afghanistan was from Iowa.
Jon Tumilson, a 1995 graduate of Rockford High School, was among 30 Americans killed Saturday when their helicopter was shot down by insurgents over Afghanistan.
According to the Associated Press, 22 of the soldiers killed in the crash served in the same Navy SEALs unit that killed Osama Bin Laden, however, none of those SEALs killed were part of the team that actually killed the former terrorist leader.
