Iowa Court Backs Limiting Murder Case Statements
The Iowa Court of Appeals has upheld a ruling that throws out hours of videotaped statements by a Boone woman prosecutors accuse of helping plot to kill her husband. The Iowa attorney general's office sought the review of the Boone County District Court's decision in the case of Jessica Hill.

She was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder after her husband, Michael "Shane" Hill, was found fatally shot on May 28, 2007, near Ogden. Her attorney asked the court to suppress statements Jessica Hill made during a third interview with investigators.

The district court granted Hill's motion, agreeing she was in custody without being read her rights.

In Wednesday's ruling, the appeals court agrees with that decision.
