PET SHOOTING: Polk County officials are investigating why a State Trooper in Elkhart shot his neighbors' dog
Polk County officials say they want to know why a State Trooper shot and killed a neighbor's pet. It happened in Elkhart Friday.

The owners of the dog, a black lab, say it got out of their backyard, and on to the property of neighbor Mike Current, a state trooper. Owners say Current told them the dog was acting aggressive

They say Current went in to call Animal Control, but for some reason came back out and shot their dog with his gun.

Polk County is now investigating the incident.
