The casino was originally going to be built about six miles south in Franklin County.
Gayle Burnett, who would own the casino with her husband, Roger, and Century Casinos Iowa, says the couple sold its original site and is much happier with the new location.
Gayle Burnett says two nearby community colleges would receive $250,000 annually from casino revenues. She expects to find out in about two weeks if the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will issue additional gaming licenses.
