In January, Dyamond's cancer came back, spreading to her abdomen and brain.

Throughout her fight with cancer, Dyamond fought to live a normal life, taking part in dance and graduating with her classmates this spring.

Saturday, hundreds gathered at Northview Middle School in Ankeny to remember how Dyamond touched their lives.

Nicole Reed, a friend of Dyamond said, “Dyamond was amazing.  Most people know her story, but what she’s been through and the courage she’s had.  She was just truly an angel from above and I think the inspiration she’s had for so many young people...  She touched everyone here."

Dyamond’s friends are remembering her online via twitter with the hash-tag #diamondslastforever."
