RHODES SCHOLAR: A West Des Moines woman has the chance to continue her academic studies at Oxford after winning a prestigious scholarship
A West Des Moines woman is among 32 American students named in the latest round of Rhodes Scholars. Stephanie Bell is a 2008 University of Chicago graduate.

She will have her expenses covered for up to three years of study at the University of Oxford in England, The scholarships are worth about $50,000 per year and are awarded for high academic achievement and leadership potential.

Bell studied anthropology and gender studies at the University of Chicago. She says she will pursue advanced work in development studies at Oxford.

Famous Rhodes scholars include former president Bill Clinton, Supreme Court justice David Souter and novelist Naomi Wolf.
