Man holds up signs at Marshalltown tea party (WHO)

Some town hall meetings on health care reform have turned into shouting matches. Tonight, hundreds of Iowans showed up for a peaceful protest. The TEA Party stands for taxed enough already. It's a locally organized protest that allows everyday citizens to come together and voice their concerns about government spending.

More than four hundred people showed up at the rally in Marshalltown. Many brought hand made signs with them that read "Don't Spend My Future" and "No Obama Health Care". "I'm not in favor of government run health care in any way, shape or form," says Darrell Eaton.

He and other TEA party patriots believe taking a stand and speaking out for what they believe in is the American way. "People that came and asked for a TEA party were very frustrated. They wanted to do something and this is an opportunity for them to have their voices heard," says Marshalltown organizer Jane Jech.

The rally was originally scheduled for J0uly 4th, but was rained out. Organizers are encouraging those in attendance to go to upcoming town meetings and forums on health care in Iowa.
