"It's addicting, that's for sure. People that come, keep coming back," says Asa Ivers, an instructor at Aspen Athletic Club on Merle Hay Road.

She's talking about Zumba, a workout that's part Latin dance, part toning exercises and part strength training.

It's also one of Megan Salois' favorite workouts.

The moves combined with low light and loud music make the gym feel more like a nightclub.

Asa shows us how it's done. She moves like a flamenco dancer. The motto: You must use your hips to lose your hips.

"Zumba is a combination of fitness and dance elements," says Asa.

It is fun, which makes you forget, this is also a workout. That's what keeps Megan coming back.

"Even though I'm not a good dancer, I like it because it doesn't feel like I'm working out," says Megan.

"She's a regular," says Asa.

Megan's got the moves down. As for us, let's just say we're still trying to get the hang of it.

"That's the great thing about Zumba," says Asa. "We try to do repetitive movements so all people can take the class."

Asa notes the dance moves are also easily modified for beginners or people who can't tolerate a high impact workout.

"We have senior citizens in the class," says Asa. "We have teens in the class and we can adjust the movements for different impact levels."

Either way, the Latin mix combined with strength moves will have you sweating in no time. But you won't mind, as you dance through this workout.
